We just finished up another round of deskside appointments with editors at Lucky Magazine and Cosmo Latina. In fashion PR there is no substitute for having editors see your products in person. A lot of fashion PR companies have client hold press parties, but this is an added expense that is truly not necessary. An old-fashioned, face-to-face meeting with the editor at their desk or office (hence the term, "deskside") is just as effective. Why don't all Fashion PR agencies book desksides? Well, the answer is simple. It is more work than having a client spend money on a press party. You have to follow up with editors to book the appointment, gather items for your clients, organize and pack items in a suitcase and take the suitcase to each appointment and set up a display and physically present each line to the editor. Many fashion PR agency's prefer to stick to the glamorous side of the business, but we love to roll up our sleeves and get our client's products right in front of the editors! Check out the photo below from the deskside we had with Lucky Magazine last week. There is nothing we love more in our fashion PR agency than desksides.
